Phir Aai Hasseen Dilruba: Story
This happened with ‘Hasseen Dilruba’ and the same thing was shown in the latest Haseen Dilruba sequel ‘Phir Aai Hasseen Dilruba’ movie.
At the end of the first part of Haseen Dilruba, Rani and Rishu successfully escape themselves out of danger by blowing up their house along with Rani’s lover-turned-blackmailer and addressing the police, stating that Rishu is dead.
The journey is then continued in the second part, Phir Aai Hasseen Dilruba story, where both, Rani and Rishu live happily in Agra but separately.
Rani works at a parlor and Rishu teaches and stays with the landlord, Poonam, a lustful lady dying to get Rishu’s attention. The couple remains fearful of the police, especially ACP Jamwal.
However, they do not stop dreaming of living a happy life together when both prepare to leave the country and move to Thailand.
The story becomes slightly interesting when this time the second lover who is set to become the center plot of the story, falls in love with Rani at first sight.
A compounder named, Abhimanyu – Sunny Kaushal, an innocent and emotional person always visits her patient’s house just to get a glimpse of Rani.
However, Abhimanyu has more shades in the story which will be uncovered later in the movie.
His innocent infatuation with Rani soon evolves into something far more complex, as he becomes an integral part of the story’s central conflict.
Tensions rise when ACP Jamwal’s pursuit puts pressure on the couple, leading Rani to come up with a plan to marry Abhimanyu.
The situation worsens more when Neel’s murder case is transferred to Montu Chacha, played by Jimmy Sheirgill, the uncle of the murdered Neel.
The movie scrolls over when Abhimanyu, Rishu, and Rani plan and later get stuck in a moment where things become impossible to control.
“Phir Aai Hasseen Dilruba” story combines elements of romance and suspense, pushing its characters to the brink in a tale where love, betrayal, and survival intertwine.
Phir Aai Hasseen Dilruba: Cast Performances
The performances of all the actors are justifiable.
Vikrant Massey, who impressed us in the first part as the devoted lover, has limited screen time but remains impactful. Taapsee Pannu once again impresses with her natural acting.
Her fear of losing Vikrant looks real in the film. Sunny Kaushal, despite being surrounded by experienced actors, doesn’t leave much of an impact as a character.
However, his other side, where he is fierce and psycho, might catch the audience’s attention.
Jimmy Sheirgill, as Montu Chacha, comes across as a confused policeman, possibly trying to remember his lines while acting. Aditya Srivastava, as ACP, delivers a brilliant performance even in a short role.

The movie is directed by Jayprad Desai who really didn’t care about the audience’s perspective.
Speaking about the film’s team, the costumes were by Varsha Chandanani and Shilpka Makhija which helped stand out the performance of Taapsee Pannu.
Kanika Dhillon, the film’s writer, handled all of the rights except for the sequence in which a crocodile may truly let go of Rishu from his artificial arm, which didn’t sound like any logic.
Kanika as a writer seems to have tried making this film like a fictional story and not creating a realistic one.
In a sequence when Rani catches Rishu and Poonam in an intimate moment, she quickly leaves, with Rishu following her. As Rishu chases after her, he notices a quote written on the wall. The scene makes it seem like Rani somehow stopped to write the quote at that exact moment, which doesn’t really make sense.
While the first part, directed by Vinil Mathew, seemed perfect in its execution, with events unfolding naturally and the tale appearing effortless, part 2 tries to strike a balance between not trying and then introducing twists.
Editors Hemal Kothari and Abhishek Shetty, too, could have done a great job together by not making it so complex.
The music of the film is dull. There is not even a single song which can make you sing after you watch it.
The makers try hard to maintain the grip of the film as compared to its prequel. However, they lack the overall structure.

Phir Aai Hasseen Dilruba: Hit or Flop
The film introduces a fictional pulp fiction writer whose novels inspire everyone in the story, intending to pay tribute to the genre.
However, this self-aware nod to pulp fiction becomes too obvious, and the writer’s advice on relationships quickly loses its impact, making it feel less meaningful as the film progresses.
The movie has an interesting plot and a strong connection to its predecessor, but it lacks the suspense that made the first part so gripping.
The first half of the film is engaging, with character revelations handled well. The iconic moment when Subhash Ghai’s song “Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha” plays is a highlight that gives viewers goosebumps.
However, most of the actors don’t fully embody their characters.
Taapsee Pannu stands out, carrying the film with her performance, but Vicky seems confused, Sunny appears aimless, and Jimmy’s role feels forgettable. Aditya Srivastava, in a brief role as the inspector in charge, manages to leave an impression.
As a sequel, the movie had built up anticipation due to the success of the first part. Yet, if this installment had been released in theaters, it likely would have struggled, potentially becoming a flop.

Fans of the first part might enjoy the continuation of the story, but don’t expect the same level of excitement.
