Who is Amateur Filmmaker Nasir Sheikh and What is the Connection with Superboys Of Malegaon
Nasir Sheikh is an amateur filmmaker who has always dreamt of making a film since his early days. He is known for directing his films such as Khulay Asmaan Kay Neechay (2008), Yeh Hai Malegaon Ka Superman (2009) and Laal Paree (1991).
Once owned a video parlour where Nasir only screened English movies. His knack for creating a film was aroused when he borrowed Rs.50,000 from his brother and made his first spoof film, ‘Malegaon Ka Sholay’. He screened the film in his parlour, and it ran for over two months generating a profit of Rs 2,00,000.
After a successful journey of being an outstanding director, Nasir went on to direct a 26-episode series called ‘Malegaon ka Chintu’ that streamed on Sony Pal between 2010 and 2014.

The entire team of Superboys from Malegaon appeared for media on the red carpet before the film. Additionally, Varun Grover shared a video of the audience applauding the Superboys of Malegaon on Instagram. As the audience cheered, even Nasir Shaikh became emotional in the Instagram video. Varun wrote, “Absolute mad response to SOM world premiere at @tiff_net,” as the photo’s caption.
About The Release of The Film Superboys of Malegaon
This special film will be screened first at the 68th BFI London Film Festival on October 10 at the Vue West End. After that on October 12 at the famous Curzon Soho.
Talking about its theatrical release, Superboys of Malegaon will be released in January 2025.
The movie is also officially announced to be launched and streamed on Prime Video.
